Out My Window, Thrasher Fledglings

The Brown Thrasher couple has begun to fledge their youngsters. The babies have been 'hanging out' underneath the big holly hedge on the north side of the garden, near the fence. Periodically the parents have fed them a little, but not too much. They spend some of their time just hiding behind my potted pampas grass, beneath the hedge. Sometimes you can hear them or see them running about under their. Bit by by the parent birds are prodding the youngsters to get out in the garden and find their own bugs. Oh boy do I ever understand that! We have our own fledgling situation here in our home. Its not so quick and easy to fledge human babies as it is birdy babies. Human babies can take much longer--their education is not a matter of a week or two of prodding and coaxing to get their own bugs. ;)

It does make one think though, watching birdy parents.
