Porch Sitting..

In the south it is a sort of tradition to set out on the porch at night. Hubby and I have taken it up--except we sit in the back at our carport/patio. First we generally take a dip in our intex pool--we got ours at Sam's club--but they have the same brand 'intex'? at Walmart and Big Lots. Its usually hot here, today it was in the 90s by evening, but it does cool off after dinner to 80s. The pool refreshes us a great deal. We like to light our tiki torches and sit and watch the birds all coming in for one last little meal before bedtime. Usually there are birds singing, cicadas making their odd high tension electric wire sort of noise, and as the sun begins to slip down the frogs begin to call.
We generally marvel that we live in a big city and yet there is always nature all around us here! Anyhow--it is the best time of day. I'm always grateful that there are not too many mosquitos here, compared to back home in Wisconsin, and that the pool always makes us feel comfy to sit in the heat. I don't know what ya'all do evenings, but setting a spell--is a good thing. :)
