The Dream... Cheap Doublewides

Hubby has discovered one of those cheap Doublewides-- not much price, but you have to move it. Could we somehow buy the land from the folks with the singlewide and then buy this doublewide and move it there?

The numbers are very tight--both sides would have to take less and we'd have to clear out all that junk ourselves most likely rather than hire any of it done. Boy...I don't know.

When you jump into trying to do things in an unconventional way there are going to be lots of challenges and decisions to be made and stretching to meet those. Do we really want to open that can of worms too, at the same time we are aldreay dealing with can #1?

I don't know. I am the spokesperson for us when we get to bargaining, I am also the one who sees possible problems more clearly--whereas he tends to be bolder than I am in jumping in. I'm a toe dipper he's a cannon-baller.

I think--first work toward securing the land and clearing the mess. One step at a time. THEN think about what to build on it or bring onto it that will serve as a bigger house. For the short term the small singlewide is useable afterall. Why overwhelm ourselves? The land in the condition it is in, is already overwhelming. Besides--I think there are often mobiles at cheap prices available --if you can move them. We could do it far more easily in a year or so when we are not faced with the first set of challenges.

And so we discuss that and it seems we are agreed--sometimes it is better to dip the toes than to jump in whole hog.
