Update On Sam's Club & Aldi Prices

**Read this Link for more info on how to use a bare bone's price list like this one.

These are my bare bones price lists for my own use, but some folks have told me they are useful to them as well. I only price items I'm likely to buy at these stores. I use this list mainly to compare with sale prices at other stores to see if a sale or a coupon deal is really that great a deal. I update these sometimes--at least partially. This week I shopped at Sam's, I haven't been to Aldi much lately. I noticed that some dairy is starting to creep up--I expect that to go up a lot in the next year. I noticed that Chili Powder went up $1 per container! That's a pretty hefty jump. Many prices of my regular buys remained the same.

I often put notes on items that I think I can 'improve on' or to remind me if I liked them. I am heading in the direction of more and more scratch cooking, canning and gardening--IF-- I don't get a job soon that will phase out many foods I buy now. My plan now is to wait til after Christmas to make that decision. If I haven't been hired by then--I will concentrate on getting my seeds going for a bigger garden. I also will be using my pressure canner more and getting a new food dehydrator by summer. If I had a cheap source of dehydrated onions & peppers as well as homegrown herbs--I could make my own of all the spice mixes I currently buy in large containers at Sam's club for a HUGE savings. Canning tomatoes and dry beans also is a huge savings. I want to also can more meat and poultry products for quick meals. I'm studying Jackie Clay's new book: "Growing and Canning Your Own Foods. This book really makes it all so much simpler--practical recipes a real family would actually use!

** THERE ARE SOME OBVIOUS MISTAKES AND INCOMPLETES IN THIS PRICE LIST--I TRY TO CORRECT THINGS WHEN I UPDATE BUT I DON'T 'STRESS' OVER IT--SO NEVER QUITE GET THEM ALL--SORRY!**
